Meet Magic (registered AMHR as FMA'S Chevy Black Magic), our miniature horse, mascot, pet, whatever you'd like to call him.  I had never had a miniature horse (or pony for that matter!) until I bought him for our son in 2003.  He's full of character, loves to be with you, and has quite a playful streak in him too.  He stands 36" tall, and is a favorite around here with a lot of visitors.  His biggest job to date was being a buddy for weanlings, something he did very well.  These foals would be close to
twice Magic's size, but he played good surrogate "mom" by giving the foals company, but NOT putting up with any guff!  He made sure they respected him, that's for sure.  I guess with his small size, he has to have some attitude to make up for height.  Magic has given my son and other smaller kids rides, and has pulled sleds for them in the snow.  Magic now has his own new harness and cart, and I've been working on putting all three of them together!  I look forward to having fun with him driving.

Update: May 19, 2007!  Finally!  With the help of some friends,  I had Magic hitched to his cart for the first time today!  He did AMAZINGLY well, and I am SO proud!  He's gonna take to this driving thing like it is nothing, and I'm looking forward to being able to have more fun with him in this way!  Way to go, Magic!  We hit a milestone!  All of the ground driving and preparation has really paid off!  And had it not been for my friends, it wouldn't have happened, as this is not something I wanted to do for the first time without help.  Thanks a lot, you guys!!

Magic has become a great little driving horse, he has gone trick-or-treating with my son the past two years, has given rides with his cart to company, and everyone loves him.  His photo in his halloween "costume" was even on one of our local news station's websites after Halloween, 2008.  He's a great little horse!

Magic's costume for Halloween, 2010, the Headless Horseman's horse!  It needed a few modifications, so we may use it again in 2011.
