Walczak's Gracey
We just LOVE Gracey! She came to live here on 7/12/07 and I'm already crazy about her! She's too cute for words, and full of personality! Mind you some of that can be naughty personality...I was warned of this prior to purchasing her that she can keep life interesting, and she does! Gracey is 6 years old, and registered with ADMS. She is about 34" tall, and a chocolate/brown. Gracey also drives, and we have taken her out, she's SO CUTE and just great in front of a cart! I love driving her as there's just something so incredibly cute about looking between her donkey ears and watching her little donkey butt! She enjoys her job, does everything that is asked of her, and doesn't care about anything! I have the hopes of breeding Gracey someday, she has a lot to offer! Here is Kochia. She's 14 years old, and is just the sweetest, kind, most gentle and loving girl. When we're out there, she prefers to be around us than to eat, or do whatever else a donkey will do. She is attached to my hip! I have learned that Kochia (my son calls her "Chia") is a mom to several mini donkey foals, and I'll bet she was a good one! Kochia came to live here on Monday, July 9, 2007, after my son, a friend and myself took a road trip to go get her. She is so quiet and gentle, I would trust her with anything. She has already grown quite attached to Gracey, very happy to have a donkey friend again. Kochia is also registered with the ADMS, she is 36" tall and is a grey-dun. As you can see, she is my son's favorite of the two. Someday, when the space permits, I wouldn't mind having more. They don't eat much, don't take up as much space as a full sized horse, but have just as much personality packed into that little body! It's no wonder I have wanted donkeys for so long....I can't imagine not having them around! Kochia was exposed to a 32" brown ADMS jack, Kreier Kountry Sully, for a late summer, 2008 foal. Kochia is confirmed in foal for 2008! Is this a great pic or what?
And the American Donkey & Mule Society
THE DONKEY’S CROSS “Bring me the colt of a donkey” was the Master’s request. A young donkey was brought to Jesus to carry him into Jerusalem. A week later Jesus was ordered crucified. The little donkey so loved the Lord that he wanted to help him carry the cross. But alas, he was pushed away. The sad little donkey waited to say goodbye until nearly everyone had left. As he turned to leave, the shadow of the cross fell upon his back and shoulders. And there it has remained as a tribute to the loyalty and love of the humblest of God’s creatures. Mary Singer
